Rudo Benjamin, M.D. initially chose medicine because of his love of biology. “As a child, I initially wanted to go into politics but then became more aligned with the uncertainty yet deductive aspects of medicine,” he says. As a Hospitalist at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance Medical Center who is Board-certified in Adult Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, he has ample opportunity to construct the most appropriate and comprehensive care plans for his patients.
Dr. Benjamin attended Harvard University and graduated from the University of Chicago Medical School and completed his internship and residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center? “I love caring for patients and serving as an advocate for them, always striving to render the most comprehensive and compassionate care,” he says. “I believe in addressing not only their physical health but also appreciating the social determinants of health affecting their lives.”
Dr. Benjamin is active within his medical group as well. “Serving as a spokesman for the group, and overseeing and managing community health care seminars and outreach programs are responsibilities I take seriously,” he states. “Engaging with the community is my own personal mandate and brings me great joy as well as a sense of accomplishment.”
When he isn’t seeing patients or coordinating community health events, Dr. Benjamin enjoys spending time with his close-knit family, golf, basketball and online investing. He also is a worldwide traveler, having spent time in Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, North and South America.
