About Carina Cortez, NP

Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Carina Cortez knew she wanted to be a nurse when she was ten years old, inspired by the birth of her niece. After high school, she pursued a degree in nursing, starting her career with Providence as a postpartum nurse. Carina then trained in labor, delivery, and high-risk obstetrics while earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

In addition to her clinical work, Carina is a professor of nursing at Los Angeles Harbor College. She is passionate about encouraging her students to become patient advocates and future leaders in healthcare. Her goal as a provider is to deliver high-quality care for women throughout their lifespan. Outside of work, Carina enjoys travel.
