Cindy Tsai, M.D., is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was born and raised in Texas before finding her way to beautiful Southern California. A strong advocate for the promotion of women’s health of all ages and all backgrounds, she says, “I believe the art of medicine is in the combination of trust, science, and understanding. As a physician, building trust and a strong relationship with each patient are my highest priorities. I feel so blessed to be involved in the lives of so many women and their families.”

Tsai says, “My grandfather was my role model. He was a physician, and seeing his commitment to his patients reaffirmed my decision to become a physician. It was his influence that made me realize how much I enjoy studying how the body works. And seeing my first birth, wow! That was amazing!” She adds, “I also grew up with two sisters and a lot of female cousins, so I have always had a passion for women’s health in particular,from prenatal care, birth, adolescence, and all aspects of gynecological/pelvic care. I love being a part of a woman’s comprehensive health no matter their age or background. I am committed to empowering women through knowledge to facilitate joint decision-making in determining what is best for their care.”

Tsai earned her medical degree at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences – Paul L Foster School of Medicine in El Paso, Texas. She completed her internship and residency at the Adventist Health White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles. Now, you can find her at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance, providing maternity and pelvic health care.

“I enjoy being with Providence and Little Company of Mary because they are a reflection of the best of Torrance, a close-knit group of good and caring people,” she notes. “Torrance is a great town, and I love working in the clinic and the hospital doing surgeries. I believe the most important part of being a physician is providing patients with information and an ear to listen, then making a shared decision on how to proceed next. I also enjoy working on the Providence Social Committee and teaching students and nurses in the clinic.”

Living in Torrance, Tsai enjoys riding her bike during her free time along the beach with her husband. Outside of medicine, she also enjoys traveling, hiking, music, painting, and reading.
