Alison Kole, D.O., is board-certified in Family Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). She is also certified as a Radiography Xray Supervisor and Operator.

“I went into medicine because I have always been interested in science, anatomy, and how the human body works from a very young age,” she says. “I specifically chose family medicine because I enjoy all aspects of treatment, and family medicine allows me to serve the very young, very old, and all those in between. It allows me to work with women and men and build strong relationships with the entire family. With family medicine, I am constantly learning new things because there is so much variety. My days are never dull!”

Dr. Kole says, “I enjoy practicing preventative medicine and believe in treating the whole body and mind together when addressing medical issues. My goal is to listen carefully to what my patients say and help identify any social factors that may impact their health. It is my responsibility to answer their questions clearly and completely in a language they will understand. I strongly encourage my patients to practice an active and healthy lifestyle which goes a long way to contribute to disease prevention.”

If you speak with her patients, they will tell you that she is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, thorough, kind, caring, and easy to talk to. They say they love her for her approachable nature and the attention she gives them. These attributes must be just some of the reasons why she receives consistently high ratings from her patients.

Dr. Kole grew up in Arizona and earned her medical degree from the Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. While in medical school, Kole earned a scholarship and used the funds to provide international medications for the underserved communities in Honduras. Additionally, she received a letter of recognition from Western University for her international volunteer work, where she organized international trips to help underserved areas in Honduras. She won the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Senior Immunization Award for her research into improving immunization rates among the senior population, and the Mayor of Montclair gave her a service award for her volunteer work at a free local clinic.

Kole completed her internship and residency with the Glendale Adventist Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident. Now you can find her at the Providence Family Medical Center in Redondo Beach.

She lives in Redondo Beach with her husband, children, and golden retriever. Outside of medicine, she enjoys riding her bike on “The Strand,” a beach bicycle path in the South Bay, as well as hiking in Palos Verdes with her family. She also enjoys beach volleyball, cooking, and traveling.
