Benjamin Yasharel, MD, MBA, FACP is dedicated to providing comprehensive, personalized care with an emphasis on wellness and disease prevention. Dr. Yasharel has a special interest in travel medicine and helps prepare patients with vaccinations and other medical necessities for traveling abroad. He is also certified in Reiki, the ancient Japanese art of healing hands, a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch. This activates the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restores physical and emotional well-being.
A Board-certified internist, Dr. Yasharel has great compassion for his patients and a passion for serving the community. “My approach is in treating the whole person and not just the disease,” he says. His philosophy involves listening to the patient’s concerns and achieving a plan of care together. He enjoys taking care of families where he sees the grandparents, parents and their children. “My training involved caring for each patient’s emotional wellbeing in addition to their physical ailments,” he notes. “To that effect, I feel the treatment plans always involve my patient’s mental wellbeing as well.”
Dr. Yasharel graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and completed his residency in internal medicine at UCLA-West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. After his residency, Dr. Yasharel served as chief resident and as a clinical instructor for UCLA School of Medicine. Patients rate him highly for his coordination of care, being a good listener, his follow-through, punctuality and knowledge.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Yasharel enjoys scuba diving, spending time with his family, hiking and practicing martial arts.
