Early in life, Carmel Dorsey was taught TO BE OF SERVICE. She decided there was no better way to manifest that motto than to work in the field of medicine. Her journey began as a Physician Assistant in 1998 and has yet to end. Carmel’s alma mater’s mission statement embraces serving the ill and underserved. Her profession has allowed her to do just that and has brought her great satisfaction. The field of Family Medicine has allowed Carmel to form relationships with patients of all age ranges and has given her a sense of balance as a practitioner. Her approach to practicing medicine is simple:listen to your patient, treat them with respect, apply your knowledge to their complaint as best you can, and then listen to the patient again. It is a recipe for success that has worked for many years. Carmel is married and loves spending time with her husband and two children. She is a native Californian and looks forward to finishing out her career with the Providence/Axminster family.
