Olga Calof, M.D., is passionate about helping patients with endocrine disorders such as diabetes, thyroid problems, and hormones as they impact her patients’ quality of life. In addition to an active office practice, Dr. Calof is an educator, speaker and leader in her field.

“In endocrinology, we tend to work with highly complex, chronic conditions. My goal is not only to help patients understand their disease, but to empower them with medical and lifestyle tools needed to live life to the fullest.”

Dr. Calof was drawn to her specialty because she witnessed several family members succumb to complications of diabetes. She also enjoys the challenge of tailoring the best therapies for each patient’s unique condition. Dr. Calof completed her internship and residency at San Joaquin General Hospital and her endocrinology fellowship at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine & Sciences, where she currently serves as an assistant professor in the department of endocrinology.

Outside of work, Dr. Calof volunteers at local public schools and community centers providing nutrition education, and speaking at career and health fairs. She provides highly regarded Continuing Medical Education talks for other clinicians at local organizations and hospitals. She has authored over nine research papers in peer-reviewed medical journals, and presented numerous lectures and abstracts at medical conferences.

“The most rewarding part of my job is going home at the end of the day and knowing that I made a difference in my patient’s life,” she says. “My motto is, ‘Don’t be afraid to ask hard questions.’” In her spare time, she enjoys writing, international cuisine, and outdoor adventures with her husband, three children and two dogs, Laika and Luna.
