I was born and raised in the Philippines. I moved to the US with my family when I was 18 years old. My mom was a nurse back home and growing up I admired her passion in nursing. Since that moment, I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps and contribute to improving people’s lives. My nursing career started back in 2008. I jumped into different positions, from taking care of adults on a med surg, then going to dialysis and lastly becoming a pediatric emergency nurse. Having the opportunity to save a child’s life at Harbor UCLA has forever changed my life in a positive way. It has given me gratification that words cannot describe. Also, my 9 year experience working in Harbor UCLA pediatric unit made me realize how I am invested in the care and treatment of my patients. So, I chose to pursue my Master degree in Pediatric NP. I want to be that person who can give children better quality of care and support them, especially in the most difficult and vulnerable moment of their lives.
