Tu Sang “Alfredo” Om, M.D., is board-certified in Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine. His specialty is family medicine with an emergency medicine sub-specialty.

A native of South Korea, Dr. Om says, “I chose medicine as a career so I can help people with their medical needs and ease their suffering. I strongly believe in preventative medicine to help my patients’ get and stay healthy. As a physician, I must treat my patients with compassion and be responsive to their concerns. It is so rewarding when I have been able to help a patient achieve a good outcome.”

Dr. Om worked in the underserved community of South-Central Los Angeles while completing his internship and residency in family medicine. His patients will tell you that Dr. Om is always pleasant and displays warm sensitivity. “I very much enjoy taking care of a family in its entirety, from kids, mom and dad, to grandparents,” he says. His patients say he is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, respectful, and caring, making it easy to develop a good relationship with him. Dr. Om says, “I believe it is important for me to show up on time for my appointments, be a good listener, and provide my patients with honest and complete information that is easy to understand.”

Outside of medicine, Dr. Om enjoys playing golf, listening to music, and traveling. His favorite food is ‘asado’ (Argentinean BBQ).

Dr. Om earned his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in Paraguay, Argentina (Universidad De Buenos Aires Facultad De Medicina). He completed his internship and residency at Sanatorium Güemes in Buenos Aires in orthopedic surgery. He completed his family medicine residency at the Martin Luther King-Drew Harbor Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
