Kimberley Chan, M.D. has found that one of the most rewarding aspects of practicing medicine is being able to develop long lasting relationships with her patients. “I consider it a privilege to care for and gain the trust of patients and their families over time,” she says.
Dr. Chan considers herself a local, having grown up in Los Angeles and completing her education in Southern California. Early in her career, she focused her studies on reducing health disparities among underserved populations by obtaining her Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from the University of California, Los Angeles. She decided to go into medicine to directly care for individuals while maintaining a population health perspective. Dr. Chan graduated from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at LAC – USC Medical Center in Los Angeles.
As a Board-certified internal medicine specialist, Dr. Chan is committed to providing quality health care to each individual patient. She also appreciates the importance of promoting the health of the community as a whole, a focus that she earned during her studies in public health. The COVID pandemic highlighted the critical intersection between public health and medicine. Dr. Chan’s background in public health provided her with the skills needed to help her medical group navigate through the unprecedented crisis. On a more individual and direct level, her patients leave reviews that compliment her kindness, concern and excellent care.
Dr. Chan come from a large, close-knit family and is the youngest child among seven siblings. She is married with two sons. Outside of practicing medicine, her interests include cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
