Jashdeep Dhoot, M.D., grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to Southern California to pursue his medical training. Dr. Dhoot is a triple Boarded with board certifications in Cardiovascular Disease, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Dhoot chose to work at Providence Medical Institute – South Bay Heart and Vascular Center in Torrance because its philosophy aligns with his. He says, “Providence believes in nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of those we serve, and they strive to improve the health and quality of life in our communities with compassion and care for all.”
Dr. Dhoot’s primary clinical interests are the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including medical therapy, catheter-based ablation procedures, and cardiac device implantation. “I believe the successful treatment of cardiac disease requires open communication and collaboration between doctor and patient,” he says. “I chose Cardiology because it allows me to help my patients in all aspects of their care. Whether it is providing counseling in the office, sitting bedside in the hospital, reviewing imaging, or performing a critical procedure, cardiologists help patients in a variety of ways.”
Dr. Dhoot earned his medical degree at the University of California in San Diego, followed by his residency at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center. He completed a cardiac fellowship at the University of California Irvine Medical Center, where he was named Chief Fellow. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri, to complete additional fellowship training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at St. Luke’s Mid-America Heart Institute. He has published numerous scientific papers and abstracts.
When asked what he likes to do when not with patients, he replied, “I enjoy spending my free time with my two kids. I stay active playing basketball, riding my Peloton bike, and walking as much as possible to local restaurants. I’m a huge sports fan and enjoy following Northern California professional teams.”
